The Law of Attraction is a controversial subject open to many interpretations. Most believers think that their thoughts are responsible for everything in their lives. Supposedly, ones thoughts are vibrated out into the universe, and the universe provides you with whatever intentions you place out there.
However, the Law of Attraction is much more complicated than that. Simply thinking of something does not magically cause it to appear in your life, just like not thinking of something doesn't mean that it will never happen to you.
Take for example, victims of natural disasters. I'm guessing that most of the people affected by Hurricane Katrina weren't constantly worrying about hurricanes and floods.
The same can be said of children with life-threatening diseases. Not too many young children spend a lot of time thinking about cancer, right? Still, many children who have never even heard of cancer are devastated when they find out how sick they are.
Obviously, everyone will face some challenges and obstacles in their life. It's not helpful at all to place blame where it's not due. The truth is that sometimes things happen, even though no one is thinking about it. After all, you're sitting here with all your attention focused on learning more about the Law of Attraction, yet dust is still settling on your window sill at this very moment... see my point?
Of course, this doesn't mean that the Law of Attraction doesn't exist. In fact, I'm 100% certain that it does. However, the Law of Attraction isn't the only reason that anything happens.
I do believe, though, that your thoughts can significantly affect the magnitude of events that occur in your life. This is because of the impact that thoughts have on your emotions, which in turn have the power to affect, cause or even prevent events in your life.
Using the Law of Attraction will allow you to attract good things in your life, but it will not "provide" for you simply because you want something. If you want a new car and fantasize about it while you're at work, there's very little chance that a new car will magically come to you.
You'll stand a much better chance of "attracting" a car by spending a few minutes each day meditating on what it would be like to have your new car. Visualize as clearly as you can what you would do with that car, and the impact it would have on your life.
It's important that you actually feel something while visualizing your car. Feel the relief of not having to rely on public transportation. Express your sincere gratitude to the universe or your God for allowing a reliable car to come into your life. Know in your heart and soul that you deserve it.
These emotions send out energies which can influence the universe to work in your favor. Perhaps more importantly - these energies will help you become more motivated to take action and bring your own results to fruition.
All in all, the Law of Attraction is a powerful force, but it doesn't determine everything. You can create miracles by using it in situations that you do have some control over.
