Excellence starts from within. Knowledge and skill alone can’t bring excellence, spiritual aspect need to be taken into account. Thus spiritual development is paramount for achieving excellence, in fact studies has shown that spiritual aspect contributed about 80% to  achieving excellence. True excellence will only be achieved when one submit to God’s will. There is no true excellence without spirituality. What does submit to God’s will really mean?

Spiritually, submit to God’s will mean you do the necessary planning and effort to achieve your goal, however you accept what ever result you got without disappointment.  Accepting what you got is a good practice for spiritual development. You believe in God and nothing else. Who ever put trust in God, God is sufficient for him/her. God will provide for him/her from resources
he/she never anticipated or thought about.  God’s plans are different from yours and He will execute in what ever way He wishes. If you achieved success without much effort, that is God’s will. And if you have to put a lot of effort to achieve success, that is also God’s will.

If you think success in dependent on your effort, nothing to do with spiritual, consider this; you have control on what you eat. After the food has gone into your system, do you have control on what nutrient your body will extract, how much to extract and where to be distributed to? If you can’t control what’s happening inside your body, how can you control what’s going to happen outside you?

One of the pillars for spiritual development is belief that nothing in this world happens without the permission of God. When you trust God’s promises, success and equanimity will come to you.
